Cricket has claimed a fair bit of space behind Harley's building for his stills. She doesn't seem to mind, and the topography of the yard has actually adjusted for him (weird, but convenient), so he's taking full advantage. He has a large lean-to shed for the three units he's set up, and one side is wide open, but he has plans to close it in once the money's there. He made a point of keeping it as attractive as possible so as not to leave an eyesore in his friend's yard, but he did put it together himself. The outer walls are sleek, the roof covered with wooden shingles, but it's probably not technically up to code.

He's been absolutely meticulous about his equipment, and it shows. It looks like he cleans up daily, and the copper stills themselves gleam in the light of the fire he's set up in the pit outside the shed. He has three sizes now, 8-gallon, 13-gallon, and 30-gallon. Each time he cuts a profit, he puts it back into the setup. He can run with what he has for a while, but if he keeps building his business at this rate, he's going to outstrip the Bondurants for sheer productivity in a year or so.

Yes, he's goddamn proud of himself.

There's a narrow wooden table with jars lined up on it, inside the shed. Like any moonshiner, Cricket packages things in mason jars. The labels are all handwritten in sharpie--black for plain, red for apple, blue for blackberry. Next to the jars, though, he's got some shortbread cookies, some hotdogs and skewers for roasting on the fire, and a bowl of popcorn.

He has literally never had company before, and he just hopes he's not screwing it up.
