Cricket looks absolutely thrilled to see Mr. Slick and his family, heading over to meet them at his usual lopsided, steady pace, with a grin on his face. "I'm sure glad you did," he greets.
He offers a handshake to each in turn. "That's right, Doc Alma gave me my vitamin shots for a while there. Glad I don't need 'em no more, but I appreciate it."
He hasn't met Celeste, though, and he gives her a little nod of greeting as well, his smile a little shyer for a stranger. "Nice to meet you, ma'am. Can I get you all somethin' to drink? There's moonshine and wine, but there's lemonade and soda-pop, too."
